Amazon Listing Audit Checklist for UK Sellers

You do not need a paid tool to spot the most common listing problems. Work through this checklist with one ASIN open in front of you.

Key takeaways

  • A structured walkthrough catches issues that are easy to miss in day-to-day account work.
  • Cover copy, images, mobile layout, A+ Content and compliance — in that order.
  • Use the checklist before increasing PPC spend, not after.
  • If anything looks unclear, a written second opinion is worth getting.

Most listing problems we see at Buy Box Savvy fall into the same handful of categories. This checklist is the same one we mentally run through when we open a new ASIN. Work through it with your live listing in front of you, ideally on a mobile device.

1. Title

  • Brand name first, then product type, then key benefit or use case.
  • No comma-separated keyword lists.
  • Reads naturally on a phone screen.
  • No prohibited or unsupported claims.

2. Bullet points

  • Each bullet covers one clear idea.
  • Bullets answer who, what, when, why and what is included.
  • Important specifications (size, material, compatibility) are easy to find.
  • No repeated keywords or filler phrases.

3. Images

  • Main image is clean, on a white background and shows the product clearly.
  • Secondary images explain features, scale and use.
  • Any text overlays are readable on mobile.
  • Lifestyle images show realistic UK use cases where relevant.

4. A+ Content

  • Includes comparison module where appropriate.
  • Addresses common buyer objections.
  • Reinforces brand trust and story.
  • Covers practical detail not in the bullets.

5. Mobile and conversion

  • Listing is reviewed on a phone, not just desktop.
  • Key information is visible above the fold on mobile.
  • Variations are set up logically (size, colour, pack).

6. Compliance and risk

  • No medical, safety or performance claims that cannot be supported.
  • Required labelling and safety information is present.
  • Category-specific requirements are met.
  • Backend fields are tidy and not duplicated in visible copy.

Before you increase PPC

If three or more items above are weak, increasing PPC spend tends to amplify the problem, not solve it.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I audit my listings?

A light review every quarter, and a fuller review whenever you change pricing, packaging or main creative.

Can I do this myself?

Yes. The checklist is designed for self-review. A second opinion is useful when you are too close to your own copy.

Do I need new photography?

Not always. Many listings improve significantly by re-using existing images in a clearer order with better callouts.
